Eubank Jr Accuses Team Benn of Sabotage Ahead of Heated Rematch
Sabotage, Toenails & Tension: Eubank Jr and Hearn Clash Before Benn Rematch
Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn reignited one of British boxing’s fiercest rivalries in a fiery press conference ahead of their highly anticipated November rematch, with explosive accusations and personal jabs taking center stage.
Eubank Jr, 35, used the media event to level stunning allegations against Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn and Team Benn, claiming they tried to “sabotage” his preparation for their previous bout.
“They did everything they could to try and destroy me in this last fight. Contract breaches, fines, rehydration clauses, sabotage weigh-in, bias commentary and refereeing,” Eubank charged, before Hearn quickly dismissed the claims as “waffle” and “playing the victim.”
Allegations Fly: From Dehydration to Toenail Loss
The build-up to their first clash in April was intense, but Eubank’s latest comments have taken things to another level.
He claimed severe dehydration post-fight led to hospitalization and even the loss of a toenail, an example he says highlights how far Team Benn went to gain the upper hand.
Despite Hearn’s pushback, the accusations have already stirred controversy as fans await the sequel to the 60,000-strong spectacle at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this year.
Rematch Reloaded: Benn Vows a Different Approach

Benn wore a Manchester City shirt in tribute to Ricky Hatton
While Eubank dominated the microphone with barbed remarks and accusations—accusing Benn of taking a “victory tour” despite losing—Conor Benn, 28, remained composed.
“It felt like I was one punch away from winning,” Benn admitted.
“But I was always looking for that one punch. I’ll be less greedy this time.”
He let Hearn do most of the talking, but fans will expect a much more clinical Benn in the ring this November.
The rematch aims to recapture the energy of their initial blockbuster showdown, but it’s clear the psychological warfare is already under way.
Respect for Hatton Amid the Hostility
Before the verbal fireworks, there was a moment of heartfelt tribute for the late Ricky Hatton, the beloved former two-weight world champion who passed away on Sunday at age 46.
Benn, dressed in a retro Manchester City top, paid homage to Hatton—whom he described as his “hero” and father figure.
“He made me feel at home when I didn’t have a home. He meant a lot to me and my family,” Benn told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He is my hero. It’s still hard to process.”
Security Tight, Face-Off Calm
Despite the boiling tensions and Eubank’s aggressive rhetoric, the face-off was calm. With plenty of security on hand—especially after the notorious egg-slap incident earlier this year—no physical altercations occurred.
As the two sons of boxing legends prepare to write another chapter in their rivalry, the stage is set for a rematch steeped in emotion, legacy, and unresolved animosity.
