Arsenal Seal £48.5m Deal for Chelsea Winger Noni Madueke
Arsenal have completed the signing of Chelsea and England winger Noni Madueke in a deal worth £48.5m.
The 23-year-old joins the Gunners on a five-year contract after leaving Chelsea’s Club World Cup squad in the United States to finalize his move. The fee could rise above £50m with add-ons.
“Humbled and blessed to be here. I can’t wait to get on the pitch and repay the faith shown in me,” Madueke wrote on Instagram after sealing his Emirates switch.
Madueke made 92 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 20 goals after signing from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 for £30m. He helped the Blues win the Europa Conference League last season and made his England debut in August 2024.
Arteta: “Madueke will improve our attack”
Manager Mikel Arteta praised his new signing, saying:
“Noni is an exciting and powerful young player with consistently high performances. His arrival gives us more quality and depth in attack.”
Madueke is Arsenal’s fourth signing of the summer and second from Chelsea following goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Gunners have also secured midfielders Christian Norgaard and Martin Zubimendi, while Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres and Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera are close to joining.
Where does Madueke fit?
Primarily a right winger, Madueke could provide strong competition for Bukayo Saka or operate on the left, challenging Gabriel Martinelli.
His direct style, creativity, and ability to beat defenders could bolster an Arsenal attack that struggled with depth during last season’s title run-in.
