Burnley are set to sign Kyle Walker from Manchester City, with the England right-back having passed a medical ahead of a move to Turf Moor.

The 35-year-old is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Premier League newcomers, bringing an end to his eight-year spell at City, where he won 17 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the 2023 Champions League.

Walker’s Next Chapter

Walker spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at AC Milan, making 17 appearances in Serie A. Milan opted not to trigger the option for a permanent deal, paving the way for his return to England.

His contract at City was set to expire in the summer of 2026, but both parties have agreed to part ways early.

At Burnley, Walker will reunite with head coach Scott Parker, a former teammate from his Tottenham days between 2011 and 2013.

Walker’s Career in Numbers

  • 🏆 17 major trophies at Manchester City

  • 👕 264 appearances for City

  • 🏟️ 96 England caps, most recently featuring in a June 2025 friendly defeat to Senegal.

  • Joined City in 2017 from Tottenham for £50m.

Burnley’s Busy Summer

Walker becomes Burnley’s fifth signing of the transfer window as the Clarets strengthen for their return to the Premier League:

  • Axel Tuanzebe – centre-back

  • Quilindschy Hartman – left-back

  • Max Weiss – goalkeeper

  • Loum Tchaouna – winger

Parker’s side earned promotion back to the top flight after winning the Championship under his stewardship.

What They Said

🗨️ “Kyle’s experience and leadership will be vital for us this season. He’s a player I know well and he’s still performing at the top level,” Parker said.

🗨️ “I’ve had an incredible eight years at City, but this is the right time for a new challenge,” Walker told reporters. “Burnley is a great club and I’m excited to help them stay in the Premier League.”
