Raducanu Stalker Blocked from Applying for Wimbledon Tickets

The All England Club’s security system has blocked a known stalker of British tennis star Emma Raducanu after he attempted to apply for tickets to this month’s Wimbledon Championships.

The man, previously issued a restraining order by Dubai police, was automatically red-flagged in the public ballot system—ensuring his entry attempt was denied.

Incident in Dubai Left Raducanu in Tears

The issue stems from a disturbing pattern of behaviour that culminated during the Dubai Tennis Championships in February. The individual had followed Raducanu to four consecutive tournaments, eventually handing her a letter and requesting a photo in a local coffee shop.

Raducanu, 22, became visibly distressed after spotting him in the stands during her match against Karolina Muchova, even hiding behind the umpire’s chair and struggling to complete the game.

“I literally couldn’t see the ball through tears,” she recalled.

“I could barely breathe. I was like, ‘I need to take a breather.’”

Previous Stalker and Increased Security

This isn’t the first time Raducanu has dealt with stalking. In 2022, a separate man was handed a five-year restraining order after walking 23 miles to her home.

Following the latest incident, Raducanu now travels with constant security and companions, admitting:

“I’m always with someone and always being watched.”

Wimbledon Security: What’s in Place?

Sally Bolton, CEO of the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), emphasized their year-round efforts to keep players safe:

“We’re liaising with the tours, police, and agencies throughout the year. If a player has a concern, we can arrange bespoke protection.”

Key Wimbledon security measures include:

  • A flagging system in the ticket ballot

  • Enhanced ID checks for queuers

  • Fixated threat specialists and behavioural analysts on site

  • Targeted CCTV sweeps near players and their boxes

  • On-court protection officers and mobile response teams

An estimated 1,000 personnel are involved in various aspects of security at SW19.
