Amorim Warns Rivals: Man Utd Won’t Sell Stars on the Cheap

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has issued a stern warning to rival clubs hoping to land the club’s exiled players on the cheap.

After Marcus Rashford completed a high-profile loan move to Barcelona, four players remain out of Amorim’s plans: Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Tyrrell Malacia. All were left out of the club’s Premier League Summer Series tour of the United States and are now training separately at Carrington.

“If clubs think they can wait until the last minute and get these players cheap, they might get a shock,” Amorim said.

No Fire Sale at Old Trafford

Amorim confirmed that United have set firm asking prices for their unwanted stars. Clubs like Juventus (linked with Sancho), Real Betis (interested in Antony), and several others monitoring Garnacho, are reportedly hoping to negotiate cut-price deals late in the window.

However, Amorim stood firm:

“If they don’t reach that, they will be Manchester United players, no doubt about that,” he stated.

“I’m ready to receive the players if necessary.”

Ruthless Rebuild Continues

The squad revamp under technical director Jason Wilcox and CEO Omar Berrada has seen over £130m already spent this summer, with Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Diego Leon all arriving.

Yet Amorim is still targeting a new striker and a holding midfielder. But with budget limitations and high market prices, he hinted the club may not complete any further signings before the window closes on 1 September.

“If we have to start the season with this squad, I’m happy because all the players that are here want to be here – and that for me is the most important thing.”

Cunha Embraces Pressure at Old Trafford

Among the new arrivals, Matheus Cunha turned down Champions League football with Arsenal and Tottenham to join United. The 26-year-old Brazilian believes the pressure that comes with playing for Manchester United is a “privilege.”

“When Ruben came to me and said he wanted me to help put the club in the perfect times again, it was a challenge I wanted.”

United face a tough opening schedule that includes Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea in their first five games.
