Ronaldo Commits Future to Al-Nassr
Ronaldo shuts down exit talk
Cristiano Ronaldo has ended speculation about his future by declaring:
“I belong to Saudi Arabia.”
The 41-year-old forward had missed three recent matches amid reports of frustration over how Al-Nassr were being run by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
But he returned in style, scoring twice in a 4-0 victory over Al-Hazem — a result that lifted Al-Nassr one point clear at the top of the Saudi Pro League.
Speaking to Saudi broadcaster Thmanyah, Ronaldo made his position clear:
“I’m very happy. As I say so many times, I belong to Saudi Arabia.
It’s a country that has welcomed me very well, and my family and my friends.
I’m happy here, I want to continue here.”
Title race heating up
The emphatic win over Al-Hazem put Al-Nassr:
-
One point ahead of Al-Hilal
-
Firmly in the Saudi Pro League title race
-
Into the AFC Asian Cup quarter-finals
Ronaldo stressed that the focus remains on silverware:
“The most important thing is we keep pushing. We are there at the top. We do our job, we win, make pressure — let’s see at the end of the season.”
Legacy in Saudi Arabia
Since joining Al-Nassr in December 2022 following his Manchester United exit, Ronaldo became the highest-paid player in football history, reportedly earning £177m per year.
However, team success has been limited:
-
No Saudi Pro League title yet
Now, with Al-Nassr leading the standings, Ronaldo appears determined to add a major domestic trophy to his Saudi chapter.
Verdict
Despite transfer rumours and internal doubts, Ronaldo’s message was emphatic:
He’s committed.
He’s scoring.
And he’s chasing another league title.
At 41, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is still central to Al-Nassr’s ambitions — and the Saudi Pro League title race looks set for a dramatic finish.
