Eze Hat-Trick Lifts Arsenal Past Spurs in 4-1 Rout

Eberechi Eze fired a stunning hat-trick as Arsenal crushed Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 in the North London Derby, moving six points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Arsenal dominated the Emirates Stadium from the outset. Leandro Trossard broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, latching onto a delightful through ball from Mikel Merino and finishing confidently past Guglielmo Vicario.

The Gunners doubled their lead before the break, and it was Eze who stole the spotlight. The former Crystal Palace man dribbled past two defenders at the edge of the box before firing home a low strike to make it 2-0.

Eze Steals the Show

Just 23 seconds into the second half, Eze struck again with a curled left-footed effort from the edge of the box, leaving Vicario no chance. Spurs looked stunned, and though Richarlison pulled one back with a spectacular lob from 40 yards after David Raya was caught out, Eze completed his first senior hat-trick with another composed finish in the 76th minute.

The 27-year-old now has five goals and three assists in 15 league appearances for Arsenal this season—more goal involvements than any other English player in 2025.

Arsenal’s Title Intentions Clear

This result gives Arsenal their largest lead at this stage of a Premier League season since 2004, the last time they won the league.

Manager Mikel Arteta praised Eze’s performance, which further validates the Gunners’ decision to hijack Spurs’ summer move for the England international. Initially signed as a response to Kai Havertz’s injury, Eze has found a new rhythm at the Emirates, seamlessly fitting into Arteta’s fluid attacking system.

He now operates more from the right, building chemistry with Bukayo Saka, and his creativity has become key to Arsenal’s title charge.

Tottenham Tactics Backfire

Thomas Frank’s defensive 5-man setup failed to contain Arsenal’s relentless pressure. Spurs didn’t register a single shot in the first half—marking the second time this season they’ve ended a half with zero attempts.

Frank introduced Xavi Simons at half-time in a desperate attempt to spark some offense, but Eze’s immediate second-half strike rendered the adjustment ineffective.

Spurs remain ninth, just three points behind the Champions League spots, but concerns are growing over Frank’s ultra-conservative approach. His side averages fewer than 10 shots per game, the third-lowest in the league.
