
Holloway Retains BMF Title as Poirier Bows Out at UFC 318
Max Holloway retained his BMF (Baddest Motherf***) title** in a thrilling fight at UFC 318, defeating Dustin Poirier by unanimous decision and ending the veteran’s storied MMA career in front of an emotional crowd in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Holloway’s relentless pace and volume of strikes secured him victory in their third meeting, making him the first fighter to successfully defend the BMF belt.
After the bout, Holloway paid tribute to Poirier, saying:
“This is Dustin’s retirement fight – give it up to my man.”
The Hawaiian then called for a title shot at lightweight champion Ilia Topuria, telling UFC officials:
