Nottingham Forest Set to Appoint Vitor Pereira as New Head Coach
Nottingham Forest are closing in on the appointment of Vitor Pereira as their new head coach, following the dismissal of Sean Dyche after a goalless home draw with bottom side Wolves on Wednesday.
The result left Forest just three points above the Premier League relegation zone with 12 games remaining.
According to BBC Sport, talks between Forest and Pereira have progressed significantly and a deal is now close. The 57-year-old Portuguese coach has previously worked with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis during a stint at Olympiacos, and quickly emerged as the preferred candidate to take over.
Forest’s Managerial Turmoil

Vitor Pereira won 14 of his 38 games in charge of Wolves
If confirmed, Pereira will become Nottingham Forest’s fourth manager this season, following:
-
Sean Dyche
Pereira was last in charge of Wolves, where he took over mid-season and was praised for keeping the club in the Premier League. However, he was dismissed in November, having collected just two points from the opening 10 games of the current campaign.
Why Pereira?
Despite his short and turbulent spell at Wolves, Forest see Pereira as a tactical mind with the experience to stabilize their season and avoid relegation. His previous success in top-flight leagues across Europe, combined with his familiarity with Marinakis’ expectations, appears to be a key factor behind the decision.
Forest’s upcoming fixtures will be crucial, and the club are hoping the managerial change brings a spark in the final stretch of the season.
