Arise, Sir David – Beckham Knighted by King Charles

A Knight of the Realm: Sir David Beckham Honoured at Windsor

Former England captain David Beckham has officially been knighted, receiving one of the highest honours in the United Kingdom for his legendary contributions to football and British culture.

The ceremony took place at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, where King Charles conferred the knighthood upon the 50-year-old icon. Beckham was named in the King’s Birthday Honours List earlier this year.

“I couldn’t be prouder,” said Beckham.

“People know how patriotic I am – I love my country.”

Style Fit for Royalty – Victoria Designs His Suit

Beckham was joined by his wife Victoria Beckham, and his parents Sandra and David at the ceremony. In a touching personal gesture, Victoria, who received an OBE in 2017 for services to fashion, designed and tailored the morning suit her husband wore.

“The King was quite impressed with my suit,” Beckham revealed.

“I looked at old photos of him when he was young in a morning suit… so I gave the idea to my wife, and she made it.”

Beckham also credited King Charles as a long-time style inspiration, calling him “the most elegantly dressed man I know”.
