Neymar’s Setback Delays Selecao Return

Brazil’s all-time top scorer Neymar (79 goals in 128 caps) has suffered another injury setback, delaying his highly anticipated return to international duty. The 33-year-old forward, who was set to feature for the first time since October 2023, will miss crucial World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina.

“The return seemed so close, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to wear the most important jersey in the world for the moment,” Neymar shared on Instagram.

Despite an improved spell at Santos (3 goals, 3 assists in 7 games), Neymar and Brazil’s coaching staff agreed not to risk further injury and prioritize his full recovery.

Endrick Steps Up for Brazil

Teenage sensation Endrick (18) has been called up to replace Neymar, marking another major milestone in his young career.

Club Form: 6 goals in 28 appearances for Real Madrid this season.
International Impact: 3 goals in 13 caps for Brazil at senior level.

The rising star, who is already making waves in LaLiga and the Champions League, will now have the chance to shine on the international stage against two of South America’s strongest teams.

Squad Updates: More Changes for Brazil

Lyon’s Lucas Perri replaces injured Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson.
Flamengo’s Alex Sandro steps in for Danilo, who is also ruled out.

With Brazil currently in a tight qualification race, these changes will be key as Dorival Jr.’s squad aims to secure vital points against Colombia (14 March) and Argentina (19 March).
