Raheem Sterling’s Home Burgled While Family Inside During Chelsea Match
Break-in at Raheem Sterling’s Home While Family Was Inside
Raheem Sterling and his family were victims of a traumatic home burglary in Berkshire on Saturday evening, while they were inside the house. The incident occurred shortly before Chelsea’s Premier League match against Wolves, a fixture for which Sterling was not named in the squad.
The England international, currently sidelined and training away from the first team, was at home with his partner Paige Milian and their children when the break-in occurred at around 6:30 PM, according to Thames Valley Police.
“Whilst the ultimate violation of privacy and safety, we are thankful to be able to confirm that he and his loved ones are all safe,”
said a spokesperson for the 29-year-old forward.
Police Investigation Underway
Authorities have launched a full investigation and are urging the public to come forward with any relevant information.
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson confirmed:
“We are investigating a burglary at around 6.30pm on Saturday.
Officers are conducting a thorough investigation and ask anyone with information, or if they saw anyone in the area acting suspiciously, to contact police.”
Sterling Previously Targeted by Burglars
This is not the first time Sterling has faced such an ordeal:
-
In 2022, he left England’s World Cup squad in Qatar after a robbery at his family home shortly before England’s quarter-final clash with France.
-
In 2020, three burglars targeting the homes of “high-wealth individuals,” including Sterling, were sentenced to jail for multiple raids.
These repeated violations have raised growing concerns about the safety of footballers and public figures, especially during matchdays when their homes may be vulnerable.
Sterling’s Chelsea Situation
Sterling joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2022, but his time at Stamford Bridge has been rocky. He spent last season on loan at Arsenal, and despite speculation, failed to secure a move away this past summer.
The former Liverpool and City star is currently training separately from the first-team squad, and has yet to feature in any match for Chelsea this season.
Public Urged to Remain Vigilant
This disturbing incident is a reminder of the security risks faced by footballers and public figures. Fans and local residents in the Berkshire area are being encouraged to report any suspicious activity to assist the ongoing investigation.
