Son Heung-min has joined Los Angeles FC on a two-year contract, with an option for an additional two seasons, in a Major League Soccer record transfer worth over £20m from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 33-year-old South Korean forward announced his Spurs exit on Saturday after a decade at the club. He was unveiled to LAFC fans during their 2-1 Leagues Cup win over Tigres UANL on Tuesday, with paperwork and medicals completed this week.

The fee surpasses the previous MLS record of £16.5m paid by Atlanta United for Emmanuel Latte Lath in February 2025.
