Spain to host 2031 Ryder Cup at Camiral Resort in Girona
Europe beat USA 16½-11½ in Rome in 2023

Spain to host 2031 Ryder Cup at Camiral Resort in Girona

Spain will host the Ryder Cup for only the second time in history, with the 2031 edition confirmed for Camiral Resort in Girona.

It will mark 34 years since Seve Ballesteros captained Europe to a famous 14½-13½ victory over the United States at Valderrama in 1997.

Formerly known as PGA Catalunya, Camiral’s Stadium Course has hosted numerous DP World Tour events, including the Spanish Open, and is regarded as one of Europe’s finest layouts.

The announcement makes Spain just the fourth country in continental Europe to host the Ryder Cup, following France (2018) and Italy (2023).

Europe are the current holders of the Ryder Cup after their victory in Rome. This year’s competition will take place at Bethpage Black, New York, from 26-28 September.

The Ryder Cup will then head to Adare Manor, Ireland, in 2027, and Hazeltine National, USA, in 2029, before returning to Spain in 2031.

“Bringing the Ryder Cup back to Spain celebrates our golfing legacy and Seve’s memory,” said European Tour chief executive Keith Pelley.
