Tottenham Step Up Interest in Palace Star Eberechi Eze

Tottenham Eye Move for Eberechi Eze Amid Injury Crisis

Tottenham Hotspur are exploring a deal for Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze as they look to strengthen their attacking options following a string of injury setbacks.

Manager Thomas Frank is seeking a replacement for James Maddison, who has been ruled out for most of the season with an ACL injury. Spurs have also lost Son Heung-min, who departed earlier this month after 10 years and 173 goals for the club, while Dejan Kulusevski remains sidelined after knee surgery.

Eze, 27, scored 14 goals in all competitions last season, including the decisive strike in Palace’s FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

Frank Coy on Eze Links

When asked directly about Spurs’ interest in Eze ahead of Wednesday’s Uefa Super Cup clash with Paris St-Germain, Frank remained cautious.

“I think there are a lot of good players out there,” Frank said.

“In general, players in or out, I only speak about something that is done or not done. In general, I speak about my own players.”

Competition from Arsenal

Multiple sources indicate Eze is emerging as a serious target for Tottenham. The club is also in talks with Manchester City over Brazil winger Savinho, though it is unclear if they will pursue both deals.

Arsenal are also interested in Eze but are currently focused on player sales, with Leandro Trossard, Reiss Nelson, and Fabio Vieira among those expected to leave. Spurs’ move could prompt the Gunners to accelerate their own plans.

Eze’s Palace Record and Contract

Eze joined Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020 for £19.5m and has scored 40 goals in 168 appearances. His current contract runs until the summer of 2027.

A regular for England since his debut in 2023, Eze has 11 caps and featured three times at Euro 2024.
