Joshua Vows to “Stomp All Over” Jake Paul in December Clash
Anthony Joshua says he’s ready to “stomp all over” Jake Paul and “break his body” ahead of their heavyweight showdown set for 19 December at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
In an eyebrow-raising press event, the former two-time world champion came face-to-face with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, in what is being billed as one of boxing’s most surreal matchups.
“I’ll Break His Face”
Joshua, 35, didn’t mince words:
“I’m going to break his face and break his body up. I’ll stomp all over him.”
Despite the intimidating tone, both men were surprisingly respectful during the build-up, with Paul avoiding his usual theatrics.
Still, the British boxing star refused to engage in trash talk about Paul’s skill level, admitting:
“Jake is a serious fighter. I’m here to prove I’m the better one.”
Joshua’s Reset: Training with Team Usyk

Joshua has won 28 pro fights with four losses, and has shared the ring with the likes of Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker and Oleksandr Usyk
Having not fought since his September 2024 loss to Daniel Dubois, Joshua revealed he’s been undergoing a mental and physical reset:
-
Trained with Oleksandr Usyk’s team
-
No longer working with Ben Davison
-
Intends to “realign” and simplify his camp
-
Target weight: under 17st 7lb (111kg) for the bout
He added:
“I trimmed down my team too as I was moving at 100mph with the blinkers on.”
Massive Purse, Strange Circumstances
Joshua is expected to earn $50 million (£36.9m) for the fight, which includes:
-
Standard 10oz gloves
-
Strict weight conditions
-
Commercial exposure rarely seen outside title bouts
Jake Paul, 28, appears unfazed by the size and experience gap:
“I’m willing to die in the ring… I want him to cut me up. I want him to break my face.”
He predicts a KO in round four or five, insisting the real prize lies beyond:
“It’s going to be me vs Tyson Fury next year.”
Other Callouts and Side Notes
-
Jake Paul called Francis Ngannou “a joke” for turning down a fight.
-
He claims Tommy Fury and Ryan Garcia were too “scared” to accept the bout.
-
Terence Crawford reportedly agreed to face Paul in 2026.
Joshua, not one to be left out, took a swipe at Tyson Fury:
“[Jake] is better than Tyson Fury — he’s actually sitting here.”
