Liverpool Signing Jacquet Suffers Shoulder Injury
Jacquet Injured After Liverpool Move Confirmed
Liverpool’s £60m January signing Jeremy Jacquet has suffered a serious shoulder injury just days after sealing his future move from Rennes.
The 20-year-old French defender, who is set to join Liverpool at the end of the 2025–26 season, sustained the injury during Rennes’ 3-1 defeat to Lens in Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Jacquet fell awkwardly during the second half, with Rennes boss Habib Beye confirming:
“It’s definitely quite serious for both [Jacquet and Ait Boudlal].”

Jacquet’s injury presents an unexpected setback for Arne Slot, who had described the France U21 international as a “very big talent” and sees him as part of Liverpool’s future backline.
Liverpool had moved for Jacquet after missing out on Marc Guehi last summer. Chelsea were also tracking the young centre-back.
