Liverpool Reject £58m Bayern Bid for Luis Diaz

Liverpool have turned down Bayern Munich’s opening £58.6m offer for winger Luis Diaz, reaffirming their stance that the Colombian international is not for sale.

The Bundesliga champions made an initial approach for Diaz earlier this month, but Liverpool swiftly rejected it, and their position was reinforced on Tuesday after declining the formal bid.

Diaz a Key Part of Arne Slot’s Plans

Diaz, 28, remains a vital member of Arne Slot’s squad and is valued in excess of £87m by Liverpool. The forward’s contract runs until the summer of 2027, giving the Premier League champions a strong negotiating position.

Last season, Diaz scored 22 goals across all competitions for club and country, including 13 in the Premier League, helping Liverpool secure the title by a 10-point margin.

Interest Beyond Bayern Munich

The Colombian has been on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs. Manchester City showed interest last summer, while clubs in Saudi Arabia are also monitoring his situation.

Liverpool are currently in the market for a striker, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak among their top targets. BBC Sport reports that genuine efforts have been made to sign the Swedish forward, alongside exploring other attacking options.

Bayern, meanwhile, are expected to return with an improved offer but face stiff resistance from Liverpool, who remain adamant about keeping one of their star attackers.
