Three words that marked Cadillac’s historic entry into Formula 1 for the Towriss family
Cassidy Towriss has posted an emotional reflection on she and her husband’s journey into Formula 1.
The team’s good news prompted an Instagram post from Dan Towriss’ wife, Cassidy Towriss, where she shared a heartfelt message about the journey she and her husband have been through as they’ve fought their way onto the grid.
“These aren’t the photos you take because they’re “insta worthy,” they’re the ones you take because you want to remember that special moment in time,” she started.
“1. October 2, 2023 – The moment we found out the FIA had approved our application to join the Formula 1 World Championship and announced it. Sitting in the Seychelles watching the sunset… I cried and it was a moment I’ll never forget but I also totally didn’t know what was to come (I thought that was the hard part)

“2. November 22, 2024 – We were at Vegas F1 when we got final confirmation that FOM would be announcing their approval of our bid to join the Formula 1 World Championship. To me, this felt like the end and like it was official but no, Dan quickly reminded me we can’t celebrate just yet as there was one more technical sign off before it would be official OFFICIAL…”
It was March 4 when the Towriss family received their official confirmation, but it was three words shouted through the house that marked the beginning of the team’s entry for Cassidy Towriss.
“3. March 4, 2025 – (announced on March 7, 2025) The day it became officially OFFICIAL At home, just the two of us. Dan casually yelled through the house from his office ‘Cass, it’s done.’ Anddd then we immediately resumed talking about all the things that need to be done between now and the first F1 race of 2026
“I get the front seat of a lifetime in watching Dan work and being along side him in this project has taught me so much. These photos may not be a fashion moment, a cool event or whatever but they represent years of hard work and support that puts all the other stuff to shame.”
The emotional post received a number of responses, including a message from IndyCar and former F1 driver Marcus Ericsson.
“Let’s goooo,” he said. “Congrats again and well done both of you!! Hard work pays off.”
The Cadillac F1 team now sets its sights on the 2026 season as it continues its search for its two drivers. Colton Herta has been discussed as a potential for this role. A Ferrari powertrain has also been confirmed for the project until General Motors can build its own engine closer to 2028. Suspension from the Scuderia is also a possibility.
