Forest Held by Fulham but Move Out of Bottom Three
Nottingham Forest climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone after a goalless draw against Fulham at the City Ground.
The result leaves Forest level on 29 points with West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur, but West Ham’s inferior goal difference drops them into the bottom three.
Offside Decisions Deny Forest
Forest thought they had earned a penalty shortly after halftime when substitute Dan Ndoye was brought down in the box by Calvin Bassey.
Referee Sam Barrott initially awarded the penalty, but the assistant referee ruled Ndoye offside in the build-up.
Moments later, Ndoye finished neatly past Bernd Leno, only for the goal to be disallowed by VAR for offside again.
The two decisions proved crucial as Forest were denied a potential breakthrough.
Chances for Both Sides
Fulham had the best opportunity of the first half when Bassey headed straight at Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels from close range.
Forest were more dangerous after the interval.
Ola Aina nearly scored against his former club with a powerful volley that struck the crossbar.
Later, Aina also prevented Fulham from scoring by heading a dangerous effort from Rodrigo Muniz over his own crossbar.
Forest had a golden chance late on, but Taiwo Awoniyi slid his shot wide after being played through by Elliot Anderson.
Forest Still Searching for a Win
Despite a stronger second-half display, Forest remain without a league win under manager Vitor Pereira.
The club has now gone seven Premier League games without victory and has failed to score in 14 of its 30 league matches this season.
Their upcoming clash with Tottenham could become a key game in the relegation battle.
Fulham Still Chasing Europe
For Fulham and manager Marco Silva, the focus remains on pushing for European qualification.
The London side sit 11th in the table, only three points behind seventh-placed Brentford.
However, inconsistent form continues to hinder their ambitions as they aim to qualify for European competition for the first time in over a decade.
What’s Next?
Forest face a crucial schedule ahead:
- Europa League second leg against FC Midtjylland
- Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur
Meanwhile Fulham return to league action against Burnley.
