Tiger Woods returns after 13 months in TGL finale

Tiger Woods makes long-awaited return

Tiger Woods is set to return to competitive golf after 13 months out, taking part in the TGL season finale on Tuesday.

The 50-year-old legend will represent Jupiter Links GC as they face Los Angeles Golf Club in the final of the innovative indoor league.

A comeback after multiple setbacks

Woods’ absence has been shaped by ongoing injury struggles:

  • Back surgery (disc replacement) in October 2025
  • Recovery from serious leg injuries (2021 crash)
  • Achilles tendon rupture in 2025

His last competitive appearance came in February 2025 (TGL)

His last PGA Tour appearance was nearly 20 months ago

Why this return matters

Woods replaces Kevin Kisner in the final as Jupiter Links chase the title.

They face a strong Los Angeles side featuring:

  • Justin Rose
  • Tommy Fleetwood

The return is symbolic — but also competitive

TGL vs real golf conditions

TGL offers a controlled environment:

  • Indoor venue
  • Flat lies
  • Reduced physical strain

But there’s a key difference:

It’s far easier than walking Augusta National

This raises the big question…

Masters 2026: realistic or not?

Woods hasn’t ruled it out:

“It’s not off the table.”

But challenges remain:

  • Augusta’s demanding terrain
  • Walking 72 holes
  • Physical consistency

“Some days I can do anything… other days it’s hard to move,” Woods admitted

Final verdict

This return isn’t just about one match.

It’s about:

  • Testing his body
  • Rebuilding confidence
  • Assessing Masters readiness

TGL is the first step — not the destination
