Man City Hold Fixture Talks with Premier League

Manchester City are in talks with the Premier League over the scheduling of two outstanding fixtures that could play a decisive role in the race for the Premier League title.

Pep Guardiola’s side are still competing on multiple fronts, and their congested calendar has forced adjustments to upcoming league matches against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

City’s away match against Bournemouth, originally scheduled for 17 May, must be rearranged after they booked a place in the FA Cup final at Wembley just 24 hours earlier on 16 May, where they will face Chelsea.

Meanwhile, their postponed home fixture against Crystal Palace, initially due to take place in March, is also still awaiting official confirmation from the Premier League.

Proposed Dates Under Discussion

Reports suggest a date of 13 May has been proposed for Crystal Palace’s trip to the Etihad Stadium. Another possible option sees City travel to Bournemouth on 19 May.

If that schedule is approved, Manchester City would face three matches in seven days before the final weekend of the season:

  • 13 May: vs Crystal Palace (home)
  • 16 May: FA Cup Final vs Chelsea (Wembley)
  • 19 May: vs Bournemouth (away)
  • 24 May: vs Aston Villa (home)

That intense run-in could have a major impact on squad rotation, recovery time and the title battle.

Alternative Options Considered

Sources indicate Manchester City are exploring other possibilities, including playing Bournemouth on 12 May and Crystal Palace on 19 May.

This arrangement would give Guardiola’s team an additional day of recovery before the FA Cup final and potentially allow City to play their final two Premier League fixtures at home.

Arsenal Watching Closely

Arsenal, who are battling City for the Premier League crown, will be monitoring the final decision closely. Every extra day of rest or change in sequence could influence momentum in one of the tightest title races in recent years.

The Gunners are aiming to win their first Premier League title in 22 years, while City are chasing another historic domestic triumph under Guardiola.

Premier League Announcement Expected Soon

The Premier League has yet to confirm the final dates for both fixtures, but an official announcement is expected shortly.

With the title race entering its final weeks, scheduling could become just as important as performances on the pitch.
